Job Posting Organization:
The United Nations Office for Partnerships (UN Partnerships) is dedicated to connecting and co-creating partnerships to deliver solutions that reach everyone, everywhere. Guided by the priorities of the UN Secretary-General, UN Partnerships plays a crucial role in engaging stakeholders and leveraging initiatives to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The organization oversees various programs, including the SDG Advocates programme, the UN Fund for International Partnerships (UNFIP), and the UN Democracy Fund (UNDEF).

Job Overview:
The Officer for Global Advocacy and Outreach will be responsible for leading the strategy, planning, development, and implementation of large-scale communications campaigns that promote the UN's initiatives and objectives. This role involves collaborating with various UN departments, funds, and agencies to ensure that campaign messages are integrated into relevant events and products. The incumbent will also provide expert advice to senior management and UN leadership on public affairs issues, develop strategic partnerships, and manage communications products related to UN Partnerships' work. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying collaborative partners and securing funding for major campaigns, as well as the ability to evaluate the impact of communications activities and represent UN Partnerships at meetings and conferences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Officer will take the lead in developing and implementing transformative communications campaigns, identifying partners for collaboration, and providing strategic advice to senior management. Responsibilities include preparing briefing materials for decision-making, managing operational and technical support for UN Partnerships, drafting project proposals and budgets, and serving as a spokesperson for media organizations and other stakeholders. The Officer will also evaluate the effectiveness of communications activities, manage publications, and supervise junior communication officers. Additional duties include organizing public events, maintaining information networks, and ensuring the effective dissemination of information related to UN Partnerships' initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in public information, journalism, international relations, or related fields. Experience in planning and executing high-level programming for global audiences, particularly in relation to the SDGs, is essential. Candidates should have a proven track record in conceptualizing and promoting global campaigns, especially those focused on women's leadership, as well as experience in partnership engagement and project development.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in communication, journalism, international relations, business administration, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.

Experience:
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in public information, journalism, international relations, or programme management is required. Candidates should have experience in planning and executing impactful global campaigns and in developing partnerships to secure funding for initiatives.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required, while knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is considered an advantage.

This position is temporarily available until December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension, and is subject to the availability of funding. The appointment is for a limited period and does not affect future incumbency of the post.
