Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Safeguards Information Analyst include performing first-level processing and quality control of Additional Protocol declarations, reviewing submissions for formal completeness, and proposing feedback to States. The analyst will ensure consistent use of information across IAEA databases and provide support to State representatives regarding Additional Protocol declarations. Additionally, the role involves evaluating the performance of IT infrastructure related to the Additional Protocol System, supporting training events, guiding staff in data compilation, and staying updated on developments in international safeguards relevant to State reporting.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, technology, mathematics, physical sciences (such as physics or chemistry), nuclear science, nuclear engineering, international relations, or a related field. A minimum of two years of relevant working experience in nuclear non-proliferation or nuclear-related research is required. Experience in information collection, processing, and analysis is considered an asset, as is experience in IT project development and implementation.
