Job Overview:
The position funded by the High-Level Technology Fund (HLT Fund) is designed to support ADB's mission of fostering economic growth and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. The successful candidate will be expected to analyze, communicate, and present important information effectively and succinctly in writing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential for this role. The position requires strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team and with external clients. The role is critical in ensuring that ADB's objectives are met through effective communication and collaboration, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
  • Analyzing complex data and information to provide insights that support ADB's strategic objectives.
  • Communicating findings and recommendations clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Collaborating with team members and external clients to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Participating in meetings and discussions to provide input and feedback on project developments.
  • Preparing reports and presentations that summarize key findings and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the position.
  • Adhering to ADB's policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of professionalism in all interactions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex information clearly. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory. Interpersonal skills are crucial for effective teamwork and collaboration with external clients. A demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and a commitment to ADB's mission and values are also required. Candidates should be adaptable, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees such as a Master's or equivalent qualification are preferred, as they provide a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in international development finance and economic cooperation.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in a similar role, preferably within an international organization or development finance institution. Experience in project management, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement is highly desirable. Familiarity with the Asia-Pacific region's economic landscape and development challenges will be an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the Asia-Pacific region is considered an asset, as it may enhance communication with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This appointment is open to both internal and external applicants. Selected candidates will undergo a one-year probationary period. The position is funded by a temporary funding source, the High-Level Technology Fund (HLT Fund), and the renewal of the appointment is contingent upon the availability of this funding. The initial fixed-term appointment is for up to 3 years or until the Normal Retirement Date (NRD), whichever comes first. ADB may choose to renew the appointment for an additional 3 years based on various factors, including the need for the specific skills and experience of the staff member, funding availability, and performance. This appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment.
