Job Overview:
The consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the UNICEF Kosovo Programme, particularly in enhancing communication and partnerships to promote the organization's work with children and adolescents. The position involves increasing engagement on social media, implementing donor-planned activities, and ensuring that the initiatives align with the priorities outlined in the UNICEF Kosovo Programme 2021-202
  • The consultant will be responsible for developing content that informs the public about UNICEF's mandate and its impact in Kosovo, as well as managing the launch and ongoing operation of UNICEF Kosovo's TikTok account. This role requires collaboration with youth networks and the ability to analyze digital engagement metrics to optimize content strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and disseminate content that informs the public about UNICEF's work and impact in Kosovo, including success stories and community involvement opportunities.
  • Create and publish engaging, youth-centered content weekly across various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube.
  • Launch and manage UNICEF Kosovo's official TikTok account, creating content that resonates with youth interests and collaborating with local influencers.
  • Co-create content with youth networks and volunteers, conducting monthly planning sessions to incorporate their ideas.
  • Contribute to monthly digital analytics reports, providing insights on engagement trends and content performance, along with recommendations for optimization.
  • Ensure that all content aligns with UNICEF's values and mission, promoting awareness of its work in Kosovo.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have formal education in communication, mass communication, or social studies. They should possess good knowledge and experience in developing visual content and have excellent command of the English language. The ability to multitask effectively and work both independently and as part of a team is essential. Familiarity with social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook is required, along with a strong understanding of youth engagement strategies.

Educational Background:
A degree in communication, mass communication, social studies, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a solid foundation in communication principles and practices, particularly in the context of social media and public engagement.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in communication, particularly in social media management and content creation. Experience working with youth and understanding their interests and engagement patterns is highly desirable. Candidates should also have a proven track record of developing successful communication strategies and campaigns.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those spoken in Kosovo, would be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is expected to run from July to December 2025, with specific tasks and milestones outlined for each month. The selected candidate will not be considered a staff member under UNICEF's regulations and will not receive benefits such as leave entitlements or medical insurance. They will be responsible for their own tax liabilities and must ensure that their visa and health insurance are valid for the duration of the contract. Additionally, candidates must confirm their fully vaccinated status against COVID-19, although this requirement does not apply to those working remotely.
