Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is part of the Tropical Timber Trade Project (TTT), which is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The TTT project aims to enhance the sustainability, traceability, and legality of timber trade in the Congo Basin. Interns will be involved in various aspects of project operations, including event preparation and coordination with international partners. The role requires conducting research and preparing materials that inform project activities and decisions, as well as supporting internal communications to facilitate dialogue across diverse cultural and linguistic groups. Interns will also provide technical support in preparing tenders and consultant service contracts, ensuring effective engagement and delivery of project objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will support the TTT team with project operations, which includes preparing for events and coordinating activities with international partners. They will conduct research and prepare various materials, such as reports and presentations, that will inform project activities and decisions. Additionally, interns will assist in internal communications, fostering dialogue across different cultural and linguistic groups, which is essential for understanding cross-cultural management and international cooperation. They will also provide technical support in preparing tenders and consultant service contracts, helping the project team ensure effective consultant engagement and project delivery.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be enrolled in a study program from the fifth semester in fields such as Forestry, Resource Management, International Trade, Business Economics, or related specializations. A good working knowledge of German, English, and French is essential for this position. The ability to communicate effectively in these languages will be crucial for supporting the TTT team and engaging with international partners.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be at least in their fifth semester of study in relevant fields such as Forestry, Resource Management, International Trade, Business Economics, or similar disciplines. This educational background is necessary to ensure that interns have the foundational knowledge and skills required to contribute effectively to the project.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandated, candidates should be currently enrolled as students or have graduated no longer than six months prior to the start of the internship. This ensures that interns are fresh in their academic knowledge and can apply their learning to real-world scenarios within the project.

Languages:
A good working knowledge of German, English, and French is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with team members and stakeholders involved in the project. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
