The intern will work under the direct supervision of the HR Specialist in the Client Services and Outreach Branch of the Division for Human Resources. The role involves supporting various programs under the Young Professional Programme portfolio, including the Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Programme and the Internship Programme. The intern will be expected to engage in a work-plan that outlines specific achievements and learning opportunities throughout the internship duration. Regular progress meetings will be held to ensure that the intern is developing skills and competencies relevant to UNFPA's mission and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting in the drafting of recruitment documents for the Internship Programme; creating communication materials using PowerPoint and other media with an innovative and inclusive design; participating actively in various youth programming initiatives as a facilitator and contributor; representing HR in Employee Resource Group sessions; and performing any other duties as assigned related to the internship. The role requires a proactive approach and the ability to work collaboratively with team members from diverse backgrounds.
Required Qualifications: Candidates applying for the internship must meet one of the following criteria: be currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree program (master's or higher); have recently graduated with a university degree and must start the internship within one year of graduation; or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee program and undertake the internship as part of this program. Additionally, candidates should possess strong analytical and writing skills, demonstrate initiative and sound judgment, and have the ability to work harmoniously with colleagues from various national and cultural backgrounds.
Educational Background: Applicants must be enrolled in or have recently graduated from a relevant postgraduate degree program. This includes master's programs or higher, or they must be part of a postgraduate professional trainee program that incorporates the internship as a component. The educational background should ideally be related to human resources, international relations, development studies, or a similar field that aligns with the mission of UNFPA.
Experience: Some experience working with development agencies, including volunteer work, is preferred. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to engage in project management and support roles within a multicultural environment. The internship is an opportunity for individuals to gain practical experience and enhance their understanding of the UNFPA's operations and objectives.

Additional Notes: This internship is part-time (50%) and has a duration of 24 weeks. Interns do not receive a salary or remuneration from UNFPA; however, they may receive a stipend to help cover basic daily expenses if they are not financially supported by an institution.
