Job Overview: The Financial Control Analyst position is a critical role within the Loan and Treasury Accounting Section of the Controller's Department at ADB. The primary function of this role is to provide technical support for the accounting responsibilities of ADB, which includes establishing and maintaining accounting records, internal controls, and preparing financial statements and reports. The analyst will be responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining books of accounts for various financial products, and ensuring compliance with the United States generally accepted accounting principles. The role also involves analyzing financial data for accuracy and compliance, performing analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis to monitor ADB's financial position, and identifying system requirements for efficient operations. Additionally, the analyst will assist in developing IT solutions to enhance accounting functions and client services, maintain controls for billing statements, and support the Financial Control Officer by providing guidance to team members. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can work collaboratively in a multicultural environment and communicate effectively in English.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Financial Control Analyst will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: preparing financial reports and maintaining accurate books of accounts for loans, guarantees, equity investments, and derivative products; ensuring that accounting records and reports are consistent with established accounting principles; analyzing financial data and transactions for accuracy and compliance; performing financial analysis to monitor ADB's financial resources; identifying system requirements and proposing enhancements to existing systems; assisting in the development of IT solutions for loan and treasury accounting; maintaining controls for billing statements and processing transactions; preparing and verifying reconciliation reports; investigating discrepancies; compiling and reviewing financial data for reporting purposes; coordinating information following established procedures; supporting the Financial Control Officer; and performing any other assignments as reflected in the workplan.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Financial Control Analyst position must possess a Bachelor's degree in business administration with a major in accounting, along with a Certified Public Accountant qualification. Additionally, candidates should have at least 5 years of work experience in accounting within a computerized environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Word and MS Excel, is essential, as well as familiarity with accounting software commonly used in ADB, such as Loan IQ, Summit, Oracle ERP, and PFMS. Experience with accounting policies and reporting requirements in multinational organizations or multilateral institutions is also required. Candidates should have knowledge of ADB's products, including loans, guarantees, equity investments, and associated derivatives, as well as experience working cooperatively in a multicultural environment.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in business administration with a major in accounting. Additionally, candidates must hold a Certified Public Accountant qualification, which demonstrates their expertise and knowledge in accounting principles and practices.
