Job Overview: The Operations Assistant position is a critical role within the Office of the Chief Economist and Director General (EROD) of the Economic Research and Development Impact Department (ERDI) at ADB. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical, operational, and analytical support to the division. This includes collecting and consolidating information for analytical purposes, supporting the processing and implementation of technical assistance, and coordinating knowledge events and outputs. The Operations Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring that the division's activities are well-organized and effectively communicated, contributing to the overall mission of ADB to foster prosperity in Asia. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. The Operations Assistant will also be involved in monitoring activities, preparing reports, and providing logistical support for various events, making this position integral to the success of the division's initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Operations Assistant will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: coordinating and monitoring activities for the division's knowledge events and related meetings; collecting and compiling relevant information and data related to the division's research outputs and knowledge products; producing routine and ad hoc reports and summaries as instructed; providing support in technical assistance (TA) administration, including regular monitoring of TA budgets and contracts; processing TA study outputs for publication; preparing draft TA completion reports as assigned; organizing events by coordinating invitations and logistical support; preparing correspondence and monitoring schedules; providing logistical support for knowledge events, including budget preparation and engagement of resource persons; assisting supervisors with business travel arrangements and meeting participation; and performing other duties as assigned and reflected in the workplan. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Operations Assistant position must possess a Bachelor's degree and have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. Advanced computer skills are essential, with a sound knowledge of common word-processing, spreadsheet, and graphics software used in multilateral organizations. The ideal candidate should be able to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and national backgrounds and have a thorough understanding of the role and function of the division, office, and department. A good general understanding of ADB's purpose and operations is also required.
