Job Overview: The Educational Programs Co-Coordinator at CERN's IdeaSquare will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering a variety of educational activities. This role involves collaborating with global partner universities and institutions to run student programs, organizing events for the CERN community, and facilitating external engagements hosted at IdeaSquare. The position requires a proactive approach to ensure the smooth logistical delivery of programs, including CERN experiment tours, mentoring sessions, workshops, and guest talks. The Co-Coordinator will also contribute to the continuous improvement of innovation education practices and methodologies at IdeaSquare, making it a dynamic and impactful role within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of the Educational Programs Co-Coordinator include leading the planning, coordination, and execution of student innovation programs in partnership with universities and institutions worldwide. The role requires ensuring seamless logistical delivery of programs, managing the IdeaSquare event calendar, and overseeing the coordination of space bookings for both internal CERN and external partner events. Additionally, the Co-Coordinator will be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of innovation education practices and methodologies at IdeaSquare, ensuring that the programs are effective and engaging for participants.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate experience with innovation methodologies and frameworks, along with a proven background in teaching, coaching, or mentoring student teams. A curious, growth-oriented mindset is essential, as well as strong initiative and independence. Excellent organizational skills are required to manage multiple priorities effectively. Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build effective networks. Adaptability and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment are also crucial for success in this role.
Educational Background: Applicants must hold either a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Management, Physics, or a related field. Candidates with a master's degree will be prioritized. It is important to note that applicants without a university degree are not eligible, and those with a PhD are also not eligible for this position.
Experience: Candidates should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation by the application deadline. This experience should be relevant to the field of education, innovation, or related areas, ensuring that the candidate is well-prepared for the responsibilities of the role.
Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory, and candidates should demonstrate a commitment to learning French. This bilingual capability will enhance communication within the diverse CERN community and with external partners.

The position offers a monthly stipend ranging from 5196 to 5716 Swiss Francs (net of tax), along with coverage by CERN's comprehensive health scheme for the employee and their family. Additional benefits may include an installation grant, family allowances, and payment of travel expenses at the beginning and end of the contract. Employees will also receive 30 days of paid leave per year and opportunities for on-the-job and formal training, as well as in-house language courses for English and/or French.
