Job Overview:
The EBRD Turkey Infrastructure Team is seeking a dedicated Analyst to join their growing success story in Turkey. This position is based in the EBRD office in Istanbul and involves contributing to all phases of the project cycle, including project origination, structuring, negotiations, execution, and implementation and monitoring. The Analyst will be responsible for tasks assigned by the operation leader or senior project team members, which may include conducting comprehensive due diligence, ensuring compliance with EBRD policies, and participating in legal analysis and documentation. The role requires a strong emphasis on research, data gathering, credit analysis, and financial modeling, as well as effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Structuring and Execution: As a project team member, the Analyst will contribute to all aspects of project structuring and execution. This includes conducting comprehensive research and analysis of background materials, market information, and financial performance data. The Analyst will analyze and evaluate potential risks related to proposed projects, prepare and update financial models, and work with client counterparts and consultants to progress projects. The Analyst will also assist in designing technical cooperation assistance and ensure that all tasks are completed within specified time frames and to a high standard.
  • Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation, and Reporting: The Analyst will undertake tasks related to the implementation and monitoring of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures. This includes monitoring project implementation progress, assessing evolving risk factors, and preparing timely monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions. The Analyst will also assist with the effective implementation of technical cooperation assignments and ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant areas. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models. The candidate should have credit analysis skills, computer literacy, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team under time pressure. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required, and a good command of the Turkish language is strongly preferred.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, as it demonstrates a higher level of expertise and understanding of complex financial concepts and practices.

Experience:
The position requires ideally 1-2 years of relevant experience in the financial industry, which may include roles in investment or commercial banks, private equity firms, asset management firms, or auditing/financial consulting firms that operate to international standards. Experience in project finance and corporate finance is essential, along with practical experience in participating in transactions throughout the full project life cycle. Exposure to the Turkish infrastructure and energy market is preferred, as it will enhance the candidate's ability to contribute effectively to the team.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and oral communication skills. A good command of the Turkish language (oral and written) is strongly preferred, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the Analyst's role.
