Job Overview:
The Officer, Strategy & Data (SO) plays a vital role in the Maternal, Newborn, nutrition" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Child Nutrition & Health (MNCNH) team by translating data into actionable strategies and decision-support tools. This position involves project management of data initiatives, synthesizing data, curating analytic outputs for visualization, and creating compelling presentations and written products for various audiences. The officer will assist in developing dashboards, tracking tools, and strategy documents, preparing materials for leadership engagement, and coordinating measurement-related priorities across teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management, analytical, and communication skills, with a keen interest in the intersection of data and strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to strategy development initiatives across the MNCNH team, focusing on data integration and AI applications to enhance impact.
  • Identify opportunities for AI integration into operational processes for centralized data functions.
  • Facilitate engagement with stakeholders to support strategy development and alignment.
  • Create strategic materials and presentations for MNCNH and foundation leadership.
  • Measure progress toward goals by defining indicators, milestones, and learning questions.
  • Partner with leadership to align strategic ambitions with operational business planning.
  • Support data initiatives through project management to improve tracking of product development and introduction.
  • Collaborate with grantees and internal data scientists to enhance data use in strategic decisions.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in data science, engineering, or a related quantitative field, with a focus on global health preferred.
  • Prior experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm or in a similar role within a global development, health, or social impact organization.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex strategy projects and employing structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Experience in designing or supporting monitoring and evaluation frameworks, data systems, or insights generation in global health or development contexts.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of synthesizing complex information and tailoring messages for senior audiences.
  • Familiarity with low- and middle-income country (LMIC) contexts and experience working with data, research, or health systems in low-resource settings is advantageous.
  • Interest in AI and the ability to track relevant applications in the evolving field.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field such as data science or engineering is required. A focus on global health is preferred, indicating a strong foundation in the principles and practices relevant to the field.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in roles that involve strategy development, project management, and data analysis, particularly within global health or development organizations. Experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm is highly regarded, as is demonstrated success in leading complex strategy projects and utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies.
