Job Overview:
In this role, the Senior Program Officer will be responsible for shaping and managing the execution of the TB Drugs strategy, collaborating with the EDGE team to develop a TB Diagnostics research and development strategy, and partnering with the TB Delivery team to facilitate the introduction of new TB drugs and diagnostics. The officer will manage relationships with grantees, contractors, and key partners to achieve the foundation's impact goals, provide project updates to leadership, and represent the foundation at external meetings and scientific conferences. The position requires a strategic mindset to oversee a diverse TB drugs portfolio, ensuring effective goal setting, prioritization, and impact measurement of product solutions. The officer will also oversee the implementation of high-impact TB drugs grants and identify critical intersections between TB Drugs and Diagnostics strategies, fostering partnerships within a global ecosystem to achieve desired outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Program Officer will lead and guide the strategy for the TB drugs portfolio, including setting goals, prioritizing product concepts, and planning clinical development. Responsibilities include overseeing the design and implementation of TB drugs grants, ensuring effective collaboration among grantees, and identifying priority initiatives in partnership with the EDGE and TB Delivery teams. The officer will cultivate and manage partnerships with various stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies, academia, and governments, acting as a thought partner to grantees. Additionally, the officer will provide strategic guidance in crafting grants, conduct rigorous reviews of TB drug development programs, and serve as a resource for foundation leadership on pre-clinical and clinical TB drug development issues. The role also involves hiring and managing talent, fostering an inclusive team culture, and modeling equitable decision-making.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an MD/PhD or equivalent experience, preferably in infectious diseases, pharmacology, or microbiology. Extensive experience in product and drug development disciplines, particularly in model-informed drug development and clinical development within industry or global public health, is required. Demonstrated experience in tuberculosis drug development is essential, along with a strong background in managing administrative and fiduciary responsibilities. Candidates should have comprehensive experience in scientific writing, data analysis, and regulatory strategies for developing countries, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

Educational Background:
A relevant advanced degree, such as an MD or PhD, is required for this position. The educational background should ideally be in fields related to infectious diseases, pharmacology, microbiology, or a closely related discipline that supports the responsibilities of the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have extensive experience in drug development processes, particularly in the context of infectious diseases. This includes mastery-level knowledge of clinical research and drug development, particularly in tuberculosis, as well as experience in managing complex projects and partnerships within the global health landscape.

Languages:
