Job Overview: The Senior Operations Specialist position is a critical role within the Operations Coordination Unit (SEOC) of the Southeast Asia Department (SERD) at ADB. Duties and Responsibilities: As a Senior Operations Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
Supporting strategic planning and programming by preparing materials, monitoring Key Performance Indicators, and aligning with country and thematic priorities.
Contributing to the development of Country Partnership Strategies and participating in programming missions to ensure pipeline readiness and development effectiveness.
Leading departmental inputs to corporate initiatives, ensuring compliance with ADB policies, and integrating risk management and performance monitoring into planning processes.
Tracking project and Technical Assistance (TA) pipelines for coherence and responsiveness, and supporting the effective allocation of resources to maximize impact.
Coordinating with ADB departments to enhance pipeline delivery and portfolio performance, and engaging development partners to align operational strategies with ADB priorities.
Providing guidance on project documentation and coordinating reviews to ensure strategic relevance and policy compliance.
Preparing briefings and reports for management and events, contributing to policy briefs, capacity plans, and internal training to strengthen institutional capabilities.
Undertaking additional tasks as outlined in the workplan.
Required Qualifications: To be considered for the Senior Operations Specialist position, candidates must possess a Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Social Science, or other related fields, or its equivalent. A university degree combined with at least 5 years of specialized experience relevant to the position may also be considered. Candidates should have at least 10 years of relevant experience in project processing and administration across various sectors, along with international experience working in multiple countries. Familiarity with the policies and procedures of a multilateral institution is essential, as is the ability to engage effectively with clients in developing countries. Excellent writing skills, particularly in drafting technical papers and reports in English, are required, along with the ability to adapt and collaborate with individuals from diverse cultural and national backgrounds.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Social Science. Alternatively, a university degree with significant specialized experience may be considered.
