Job Overview:
The Project Management & Community Engagement Specialist will play a pivotal role in implementing UNDP's Digital X program, which aims to scale impactful digital solutions that promote security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">human security and dignity. This position requires a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement, partnerships, and outreach to enhance the adoption of Digital Public Goods (DPGs) and open-source solutions. The Specialist will be responsible for conducting needs assessments, organizing events, and facilitating connections between various stakeholders, including UNDP country offices, digital solution providers, and donors. The role also involves supporting broader communications and advocacy efforts to promote the Digital X initiative and its objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Specialist will host matchmaking events such as webinars and info sessions to raise awareness about DPGs and open-source solutions. They will expand the Digital X Solution Catalogue by identifying digital solutions that align with the needs of UNDP country offices. The role includes collaborating with technical teams to support the implementation of digital solutions, maintaining coordination with external partners, and developing communications plans to promote the Digital X: Human Security Tech Accelerator. Additionally, the Specialist will organize training for project personnel, document lessons learned, and contribute to knowledge sharing within the thematic area of the project.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in digital transformation projects, with a master's degree, or 7 years with a bachelor's degree. Demonstrated experience in project management, community outreach, and working within digital innovation ecosystems is essential. Desired skills include knowledge of digital technology and innovation, collaboration with diverse stakeholders, and experience in communications storytelling through various media.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Political Science, Development Studies, Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the stated areas, combined with two additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in digital transformation projects for candidates with a master's degree, or 7 years for those with a bachelor's degree. Experience should be in public sector, non-profit, or international development settings, with a focus on project management and community engagement.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Working knowledge of Japanese or one of the official UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is considered an advantage.
