Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position at SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL is designed to provide support to the Desk Manager, Desk Programs Manager, and Desk Grants Manager in executing necessary administrative tasks and managing SI’s programs in countries such as Afghanistan, Myanmar, Nigeria, and South Sudan. The intern will play a crucial role in assisting the Desk team with administrative tasks, ensuring proper program follow-up, and maintaining effective communication among various stakeholders, including the Desk, headquarters, field teams, and donors. The internship aims to provide practical experience in the humanitarian sector, allowing the intern to gain insights into project management cycles, donor relations, and the operational dynamics of humanitarian missions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: ensuring that all contractual and administrative requests from the field are addressed; establishing and maintaining continuity in follow-up procedures such as program reporting planning, organizational charts, project maps, and donor contacts; supporting the review of project proposals and reports; updating expat packs and country profiles; archiving program documents in both paper and electronic formats; liaising with other headquarters departments including Direction, Human Resources, Logistics, and Communication; monitoring various projects and their reporting deadlines; participating in the institutional knowledge building of projects undertaken by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL; and keeping abreast of the geopolitical context and news related to the countries of focus.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in humanitarian action, project management, development, international relations, political sciences, WaSH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Construction/Architecture, or agronomy studies. Excellent oral and written communication skills in both French (fluent) and English (C1/C2) are essential, as the Desk works with English-speaking missions and international donors. A genuine commitment to the principles and work of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL, along with a strong interest in non-profit and humanitarian aid, is required. Candidates should demonstrate critical thinking, autonomy, organization, efficiency, and the ability to work under stress and adapt to tight deadlines.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as humanitarian action, project management, development, international relations, political sciences, WaSH, Construction/Architecture, or agronomy studies. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and project management.

Experience:
While prior international work experience is considered an asset, it is not mandatory for this internship position. The focus is on candidates who are eager to learn and gain practical experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in the context of project management and administrative support.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, and candidates must also have a high level of proficiency in English (C1/C2). These language skills are essential for effective communication within the organization and with international donors and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This internship is based at SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL’s headquarters in Clichy, France, and requires an internship agreement with a university. The internship is legally compensated at a rate of 5.60 euros per hour, with the monthly benefit calculated based on an average of 154 hours per month. Additionally, SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL covers 50% of transport costs (Navigo pass) and 60% of the monthly cost of meal tickets (valued at 8.9 euros per working day). Interns are entitled to 2 days of paid leave per month. The organization emphasizes a commitment to providing a variety of tasks and opportunities for learning, including participation in internal pre-departure training for expatriates heading to the field.
