Job Overview: The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">MEAL Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing methodological support to all program teams within SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL. This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and relevance of monitoring activities, as well as internal and external evaluations conducted on the mission. The MEAL Coordinator will be involved in capitalizing on lessons learned and will jointly develop the organization's MEAL strategy, focusing on monitoring, evaluation, and the integration of cross-functional issues such as protection, accountability to affected populations, community participation, and disability inclusion. Additionally, the MEAL Coordinator will manage periodic Multi-Sector Needs Assessments (MSNAs) to ensure that SI's interventions remain relevant to the evolving needs of the population. The role also includes rolling out new referral processes and providing training for teams, as well as overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of SI's national partners. The MEAL Coordinator will support the Grants department by tracking indicators and ensuring that MEAL components are integrated into project management tools before project initiation. Furthermore, the MEAL Coordinator will assist the Senior Management Team (SMT) in decision-making and contribute to the implementation of Project Cycle Management.
Duties and Responsibilities: The MEAL Coordinator's duties and responsibilities include:
Providing methodological support to program teams to enhance the quality of monitoring and evaluation activities.
Conducting internal and external evaluations and ensuring that recommendations are implemented.
Leading the development of the MEAL strategy for the organization, focusing on monitoring, evaluation, and cross-functional issues.
Managing periodic MSNAs to assess the changing needs of the population and ensure that interventions are relevant.
Rolling out new referral processes and training teams on these processes.
Overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of national partners to ensure compliance with SI standards.
Supporting the Grants department with indicator tracking and ensuring MEAL aspects are integrated into project management tools.
Contributing to decision-making processes within the SMT based on data-driven analysis.
Actively participating in the MEAL working group as part of a consortium with other NGOs. 1
Building relationships with field staff and coordinating with various teams to understand mission challenges and support ongoing projects.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the MEAL Coordinator position include:
A diploma in Project Management or a related field.
A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0-2 years in a similar position.
Proven experience in the full range of MEAL activities, including proposal development and assessments.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail.
Experience in strategy development and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Management skills to supervise and build the capacity of the team.
Excellent communication skills for interdepartmental coordination and external representation.
Educational Background: Candidates for the MEAL Coordinator position should possess a relevant educational background, ideally with a degree in Project Management, Social Sciences, or a related field. Additional certifications in monitoring and evaluation or humanitarian response would be advantageous.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 0-2 years in a similar role. Experience in managing MEAL activities, conducting assessments, and developing strategies is essential. Familiarity with the specific challenges of working in conflict-affected areas, particularly in Ukraine, will be beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, while proficiency in French is desirable. The ability to communicate effectively in both languages will enhance collaboration with international teams and stakeholders.

The role is based in Kyiv, Ukraine, and involves regular travel to field offices. The salary for this position starts from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 700 is provided, along with accommodation costs and travel expenses.
