Job Overview:
The intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Communications Intern will work under the direct supervision of the Communications Analyst at UNFPA Türkiye CO. The intern's primary role will be to support visibility and communication activities, particularly in creating visual and written content for the organization's website and social media platforms. The internship will include a structured work plan with specific achievements and learning opportunities, fostering an environment conducive to skill enhancement in areas related to UNFPA’s mission. The intern will engage in various tasks that contribute to the overall communication strategy of UNFPA Türkiye, ensuring that the organization's messages are effectively conveyed to the public and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for assisting in various visibility and communication activities related to development and humanitarian programs, including the EU-funded WFC project. Specific duties include: assisting in the development of audiovisual and written content in both Turkish and English; producing and editing videos with subtitles; generating and designing social media content such as infographics and quote cards; creating captions for social media and website content; posting prepared content on UNFPA Türkiye's social media accounts; translating and editing web articles, stories, and press releases; maintaining and updating the digital asset management system and media lists; supporting the Communications Team during physical events; preparing donor-requested reports; and performing any other relevant tasks as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be enrolled in a first university degree program (such as a bachelor’s degree) and have completed one full academic year, or be enrolled in a postgraduate degree program. Recent graduates who meet these criteria and can start the internship within one year of graduation are also eligible. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate an expressed interest in communications, possess experience in graphic design, video editing, and social media communications, and have proficiency in English. Familiarity with design software such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere) is essential, along with the ability to adapt to new environments and work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should be currently enrolled in a university program, either at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. This includes those who have completed at least one academic year of their undergraduate studies or are pursuing a master's degree. Recent graduates who have completed their degree within the past year and are looking to gain practical experience through an internship are also encouraged to apply. Alternatively, candidates enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee program may undertake the internship as part of their training.

Experience:
Candidates should have demonstrable experience in the field of communications, particularly in graphic design and social media management. This experience can be gained through academic projects, previous internships, or relevant volunteer work. The ability to create engaging content and communicate effectively in both written and spoken formats is crucial for success in this role. Familiarity with digital tools and platforms used in communications is also highly valued.

Languages:
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Turkish is also required, as the intern will be creating content in both languages. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This internship is unpaid, and interns do not receive a salary or any other form of remuneration from UNFPA. Interns are responsible for their living expenses, accommodation, travel, and other requirements. However, a stipend may be provided to help cover basic daily expenses if the intern is not financially supported by an institution or program. The stipend amount varies based on the duty station. Additionally, interns must have medical insurance for the duration of the internship, and proof of insurance must be submitted before the internship begins. UNFPA does not provide medical insurance for interns.
