Job Overview: The National Programme Officer - Gender/GBV Coordination plays a crucial role in analyzing and assessing political, social, and economic trends that impact gender equality and women's empowerment in the Philippines. Duties and Responsibilities: As the National Programme Officer, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including: analyzing the political, social, and economic environment relevant to population and development, sexual and reproductive health, and GBV; contributing to the design and implementation of country programs and projects; disseminating and applying standard guidelines and protocols for GBV programming; developing proposals and engaging in resource mobilization; preparing periodic progress and financial reports; providing technical support to implementing partners; mobilizing stakeholders around GBV issues; and contributing to the integration of gender initiatives in humanitarian programming. You will also be expected to perform any other duties as requested by the UNFPA Representative.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in gender studies, law, humanitarian law, sociology, political science, or related fields. Additionally, a minimum of two years of professional experience in development assistance with a focus on gender/GBV programming is required. Practical experience in project design, monitoring, and evaluation, as well as field/community-based experience, is highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate initiative, passion for UNFPA's mission, and a strong understanding of current developments in sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, and youth empowerment. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms are essential.
Educational Background: An advanced degree in relevant fields such as gender studies, law, humanitarian law, sociology, political science, development studies, or international studies is required for this position.
