Job Overview:
The Institutional Analyst position is situated within the Innovation and Transformation Branch (ITB) of UNFPA, which is crucial for guiding the organization towards enhanced efficiency and impact. The role involves collaborating with various internal and external partners to ensure alignment and synergy in workstreams, fostering collaboration, and promoting transparency and accountability. The Institutional Analyst will play a key role in implementing strategic initiatives that support UNFPA's mission and the broader UN transformation efforts. This includes actively participating in cultural change initiatives and ensuring that the organization is prepared to meet the challenges of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and implementing change activities that align with UNFPA's strategic goals, particularly in the context of the ongoing global challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Institutional Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
  • Identifying, implementing, and coordinating strategic change activities to ensure UNFPA is well-positioned to fulfill its mandate.
  • Communicating effectively about institutional transformation initiatives with key stakeholders.
  • Gathering, compiling, and analyzing data necessary for institutional transformation efforts.
  • Reviewing internal processes to identify operational needs and enhance efficiency.
  • Facilitating ongoing dialogue about institutional transformation across the organization.
  • Supporting culture change initiatives and aligning them with UN values.
  • Serving as the operational focal point for the team and performing additional tasks as required to ensure the success of the work team in supporting UNFPA's transformative mandate.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, data competencies, and the ability to communicate effectively. They should have experience in organizational culture initiatives and be able to structure, curate, process, and analyze data to identify trends. The role requires initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work harmoniously with diverse colleagues. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, along with computer literacy and good writing skills, are essential. Previous experience in multilateral organizations or public institutions is preferred, with a background in the UN being an advantage.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in international affairs, public management, public administration, social sciences, public health, or related fields is required for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of the role and the environment in which UNFPA operates.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience in multilateral organizations or public institutions. Experience in the UN system is considered an advantage. The role demands a strong understanding of organizational dynamics and the ability to navigate complex institutional frameworks.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of other official UN languages, particularly French and/or Spanish, is desirable and would enhance the candidate's ability to communicate effectively within the organization and with external partners.
