Job Overview: The Coordinator, Supply Chain Procedures, Learning & Sustainability will be instrumental in implementing IFRC’s global supply chain strategy, focusing on procedures, training, and sustainability. This role involves finalizing and deploying the Supply Chain Operations Manual, ensuring its consistent application across the organization. The coordinator will also develop a comprehensive Supply Chain Learning Strategy, defining learning pathways aligned with the Logistics Competency Framework, and creating centralized training materials. The position requires collaboration with regional teams to deliver effective training and champion sustainability initiatives within the supply chain, overseeing the implementation of the Sustainable Procurement Roadmap and other sustainable actions defined in the global roadmap.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties include leading the finalization and deployment of new supply chain procedures, developing and maintaining the Supply Chain Operations Manual, ensuring compliance with donor and regulatory requirements, and responding to audit requirements. The coordinator will create a Supply Chain Learning Strategy, develop training content, and maintain a logistics training catalogue. They will also set strategic directions for sustainable procurement practices, produce annual sustainability reports, and engage with stakeholders to disseminate updated procedures and tools. The role requires building partnerships with external organizations to advance sustainability goals and collaborating with the communications team to highlight supply chain initiatives.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a university degree in business administration, logistics, sustainability, or a relevant field. Preferred qualifications include professional certification in supply chain/logistics or sustainability, and training in adult education or instructional design. Strong knowledge of global supply chain standards, compliance requirements, and logistics best practices in humanitarian settings is essential, along with knowledge of sustainability practices and project management skills. Excellent training design and facilitation skills are also required, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Educational Background: A university degree in business administration, logistics, sustainability, or a related field is required. Preferred qualifications include professional certifications in supply chain/logistics (e.g., CIPS, APICS, CSCP) or sustainability (e.g., ISO 20400, GRI, LEED), and training or certification in adult education or instructional design methodologies.
Experience: Candidates should have 5 to 7 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or procurement, with at least 3 years in a humanitarian or international development context. Experience in developing and implementing procedures, manuals, and compliance frameworks in large organizations is necessary. A proven track record in designing and delivering training programs, particularly in a global or multicultural setting, is also required. Experience in sustainability initiatives within supply chain functions and stakeholder engagement is essential, along with a background in capacity-building programs.
Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English is required. A good command of another IFRC official language, such as French, Spanish, or Arabic, is preferred.
