Job Overview: The Analyst position is situated within the Financial Institutions Business Group (FIBG) at EBRD, which is one of the largest departments dedicated to enhancing the financial sector's competitiveness and sustainability in the countries where the bank operates. The role involves supporting the implementation of the Green Climate Fund Investment Programme (GCF IP), which aims to mobilize significant climate investments across multiple countries. The Analyst will be responsible for operational and administrative support, ensuring compliance with GCF terms, monitoring fund utilization, and preparing reports for stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Programme Support & Execution: Assisting in the implementation of GCF-supported financial products, ensuring compliance with GCF terms, monitoring fund deployment, and preparing necessary documentation.
Stakeholder Coordination: Acting as a liaison for internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth execution of GCF-supported products and providing guidance on documentation processes.
Monitoring & Reporting: Tracking GCF fund utilization, preparing donor reports, and identifying compliance risks.
Support for Business Development: Assisting in the preparation of concept notes and pitches for new projects, and contributing to internal knowledge-sharing on green financial products.
Fundraising: Supporting the preparation of fundraising applications from GCF or other funding sources.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field. Exposure to climate finance and donor-funded programmes is advantageous. Experience with financial institutions and understanding creditworthiness assessment is essential. Familiarity with loan documentation and transaction structuring is desirable. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required, along with knowledge of data visualization tools. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams are critical for success in this role.
Educational Background: A degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field is required for this position. Additional certifications or training in climate finance or related areas would be beneficial and enhance a candidate's profile.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have relevant experience working with financial institutions, including banks and non-bank financial institutions. Familiarity with assessing creditworthiness and understanding financial products is crucial. Experience in climate finance or donor-funded programmes will be considered an asset.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to the EBRD's countries of operation, would be considered a plus and enhance a candidate's application.
