With a mission to promote the rights and well-being of every child, UNICEF operates in over 190 countries and territories, focusing on health, education, protection, and emergency response. The organization is funded entirely by voluntary contributions from individuals, businesses, foundations, and governments, and aims to ensure that every child has a fair chance in life, particularly in vulnerable situations. UNICEF's work in Egypt is aligned with national priorities and the 2030 National Sustainable Development Strategy, emphasizing early childhood development and social protection for children.

Job Overview:
The Partnerships Officer UNV position is crucial for supporting UNICEF's fundraising and resource mobilization efforts in Egypt. The role involves working under the supervision of the Resource Mobilization Specialist and the Partnerships Officer NOB, focusing on enhancing donor relations and knowledge management. The officer will coordinate multisectoral flagship grants, develop donor reports and proposals, and improve the understanding of potential and existing donors through analysis and communication. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure that donor satisfaction is prioritized, and that the program results are effectively represented. The officer will also collaborate closely with the communications team to enhance visibility and recognition of UNICEF's work, ensuring alignment with donor commitments and innovative fundraising strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the coordination of multisectoral flagship grants by assisting the PPP team in managing flagship projects with donors such as the EU, KfW, and the Netherlands. This includes organizing grant kick-off meetings, identifying communication needs, and enhancing visibility for studies and evidence generated by the projects.
  • Develop donor reports and proposals by coordinating the report development process with Program Chiefs of Section, the PPP team, and the M&E Manager. Maintain a tracking system for reports and proposals to ensure timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Conduct donor intelligence by analyzing potential and existing donors, call for proposals, and funding opportunities. Document the office’s donor intelligence efforts and stewardship through the UNISON system.
  • Enhance donor communication by fostering a culture of customer relationship management within the office, ensuring donor satisfaction is a priority. Support the PPP and Communications teams in organizing donor field visits and creating communication products that effectively represent program results.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to seek synergies between resource mobilization and communications, enhancing donor visibility and recognition while advocating for innovative fundraising approaches.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Partnerships Officer UNV position should possess strong analytical and communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. The candidate should demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work setting, along with creativity in problem-solving. Professionalism and self-management are essential, as is the ability to plan and organize effectively. A strong understanding of donor relations and resource mobilization strategies is highly desirable, along with experience in report writing and proposal development.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a degree in a relevant field such as international relations, development studies, public administration, or a related discipline. A postgraduate degree would be an advantage, particularly in areas related to fundraising, resource mobilization, or project management. Knowledge of UNICEF's mission and objectives, as well as familiarity with the socio-economic context of Egypt, would be beneficial.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in fundraising, resource mobilization, or donor relations, preferably within an international organization or NGO. Experience in project management and coordination, as well as familiarity with monitoring and evaluation processes, is also advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of UNICEF. Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable, given the local context and the need for effective communication with local stakeholders. Additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to donor engagement.

This is a volunteer position with UNICEF, based in Cairo, Egypt. The role offers a Volunteer Living Allowance of approximately EGP 63,400 per month, along with a one-time entry lump-sum payment of USD 400 and an exit lump-sum upon completion of the contract.
