Job Overview:
The IAEA is currently seeking motivated individuals to fill multiple short-term roles within its business and operational support team. These positions are designed for candidates who are results-driven, decisive, and client-focused, with a strong background in business operations, administrative coordination, or team support. The roles primarily involve supporting the smooth execution of key functions within the organization, contributing to impactful work processes and projects in a high-performance, international environment. Candidates will be expected to take ownership of their responsibilities, thrive in fast-paced settings, and bring precision and initiative to their work. The positions are integral to team performance and will support various operational logistics, including event coordination and documentation management, ensuring alignment across operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a General Service team member, your responsibilities will include:
  • Contributing to the preparation and drafting of briefings, reports, and other documents, including developing data visualizations and drafting presentations.
  • Editing, proofreading, and reviewing official correspondence and technical content in accordance with established rules and regulations.
  • Supporting operational logistics for events, missions, and high-level meetings, which includes coordinating travel, accommodation, and documentation with precision.
  • Providing overall support to core project and program functions, which encompasses financial monitoring, budgeting, database management, and reporting.
  • Ensuring effective communication to track status and workflow processes, document control, and knowledge transfer.
  • Collaborating with team members to solve problems independently while working towards team success, prioritizing client needs and operational goals.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be legal residents of Austria and possess a valid work permit. They should have completed secondary education and have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in business, administrative, or operational support. Excellent oral and written command of English is essential, and knowledge of other official IAEA languages such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish is considered an asset. Experience in an international or multicultural environment is also a strong advantage. Candidates may be required to complete an administrative skills test to IAEA standards as part of the selection process.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education. Candidates should have a solid foundation in administrative or business operations, which is critical for performing the duties associated with this role effectively.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have at least three years of relevant experience in business operations, administrative coordination, or team support. This experience should ideally be in a similar international or multicultural environment, where the candidate has demonstrated their ability to work collaboratively and effectively under pressure.

Languages:
A strong command of English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional official IAEA languages such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish is considered beneficial and may enhance a candidate's application.

Additional Notes:
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, which includes a tax-free net base salary. The grade of the assignment will determine the remuneration level. Selected candidates for these short-term roles can be considered for a maximum period of two years of aggregate service.
