MONUSCO has been operational in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo since 1991 and oversees a multi-country office that spans fifteen countries in Central Africa. The office has a significant presence in nine of these countries and manages over 30 projects with a workforce exceeding 260 employees. The organization focuses on providing technical support and capacity building in various sectors, including health, education, public works, and governance, while also engaging in sustainable procurement and project management.

Job Overview:
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects aimed at enhancing the capacities of community radio stations in conflict-affected areas, particularly in North Kivu, South Kivu, and Ituri. This role involves leading field missions, delivering capacity-building sessions, and collaborating with partners such as the United Nations Joint Office for Human Rights. The Project Manager will also oversee the Radio Okapi – UNICEF Gates project, which focuses on promoting routine vaccinations in the DRC. The position requires the creation and monitoring of project budgets, adherence to policies, and the use of project management frameworks like Agile or PRINCE2 to ensure effective implementation. The Project Manager will define KPIs, track project progress, and provide strategic guidance on various initiatives related to health, nutrition, and education, while also preparing reports and identifying new partnership opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will undertake a variety of tasks, including managing projects to enhance community radio capacities, coordinating activities with UNICEF and other stakeholders, implementing capacity-building programs, creating and reviewing project budgets, monitoring project performance, defining KPIs, providing leadership and technical guidance, preparing reports and presentations, identifying potential partners, assisting in contract preparations, and contributing to the sustainability planning of Radio Okapi. The role also involves supervising staff and ensuring effective communication and collaboration with various partners.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">international law, project management, or related fields. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience is acceptable. The role requires at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in Partnerships/Programme Management or Legal Affairs, with at least 1 year in an international context for Master's holders, and 7 years for Bachelor's holders. Knowledge of international public law and experience in peacekeeping missions are mandatory.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in international law, project management, or related fields is required. A Bachelor's degree in the same fields is acceptable if accompanied by significant relevant experience.

Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of relevant experience for Master's degree holders, including 1 year in an international context. For Bachelor's degree holders, at least 7 years of relevant experience is necessary. Experience in partnerships, program management, or legal affairs is essential, along with knowledge of international public law and mandatory experience in peacekeeping missions.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and French is required for this position, as effective communication in these languages is crucial for collaboration with various stakeholders and partners.

Additional Notes:
The contract type is an Individual Contractor Agreement (ICA) at level I-ICA 2, ICS10, with an ongoing duration.
