Job Overview: As the ICLA Coordinator at NRC, you will lead the implementation of delegated projects, manage budgets, and oversee teams to ensure efficient project execution and high-quality service delivery to participants. This role presents an opportunity to strengthen and optimize processes in one of the largest displacement crises in Central America. You will be responsible for reporting weekly to the Area Manager on progress and challenges, proactively proposing solutions for project implementation. Your strategic vision and ability to adapt to challenging contexts will be crucial in this role, as you will work closely with various departments to ensure the technical quality of delegated projects and contribute to the country strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include developing, managing, and updating implementation plans, salary plans, financial plans, procurement plans, and indicator reports for the ICLA Competence. You will contribute to the development, management, and monitoring of project budgets, prepare internal and external reports on activities implemented by the ICLA Competence, and support project launches and closures. Additionally, you will ensure that human resources processes are conducted according to NRC policies, including performance management, recruitment processes, training needs, and mentoring. You will lead weekly program development meetings and contribute to organizational learning by documenting community mobilization methodologies, lessons learned, and evaluations. Travel to NRC offices in Central America may be required to provide support in the absence of local activity managers or as requested by area management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Social Sciences (Law, International Relations, Social Work, or related fields). Knowledge of the operational and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security context where NRC operates is a plus. A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in managing legal support projects and/or assistance to migrants and refugees in high vulnerability contexts, violence, and/or early recovery is required. Experience managing projects across multiple countries and medium to large teams is essential, along with documented previous results in similar responsible positions. Leadership experience is also necessary, and an intermediate level of English, both oral and written, is desirable.
Educational Background: The position requires a university degree in Social Sciences, specifically in fields such as Law, International Relations, Social Work, or related disciplines. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of the humanitarian context and the legal frameworks surrounding displacement and assistance.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in project management related to legal assistance and support for migrants and refugees. Experience in high vulnerability contexts, including violence and early recovery scenarios, is essential. Candidates should also have a proven track record of managing projects in complex and volatile environments, demonstrating their ability to lead teams effectively and achieve results in challenging situations.
Languages: A mandatory requirement for this position is proficiency in Spanish, as it is the primary language of communication. Additionally, an intermediate level of English, both oral and written, is desirable to facilitate communication in an international context and with diverse stakeholders.
