Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst, Communications position is crucial for advancing UNFPA's mandate and priorities in Moldova. The role involves developing and implementing external communication and advocacy strategies, as well as program communication plans. The Communications Analyst will monitor and analyze the political, social, and economic environment relevant to UNFPA's work, identifying opportunities for strategic communications interventions. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including UNFPA staff, other UN agencies, and civil society organizations, to enhance visibility and maintain a positive image for UNFPA. The role also includes advising on communication strategies that engage communities and promote reproductive health, gender equality, and youth empowerment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including monitoring and analyzing the political and social environment, guiding internal and external communications, coordinating the development of communication strategies, and maintaining relationships with media and civil society. Specific tasks include drafting and editing articles and press releases, managing UNFPA's website and social media accounts, organizing public events, overseeing the production of advocacy materials, and evaluating the impact of communication efforts. The Analyst will also lead initiatives to raise awareness about reproductive health and gender equality, build the capacity of national partners, and advise on donor relations and resource mobilization strategies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related social science field. Prior experience in communication and advocacy on social issues, media relationship management, and digital media is highly desirable. Knowledge of communication approaches, tools, and methodologies is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to UNFPA's values and possess strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in teams and communicate effectively for impact.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related social science field is required for this position. This educational background ensures that candidates have the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage communication strategies and advocate for UNFPA's goals.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in communication and advocacy, particularly in social issues, media management, and resource mobilization. Experience in developing communication strategies and working with diverse stakeholders is advantageous. Languages:
Fluency in English, Romanian, and Russian is mandatory for this position. Additional Notes:
This position is full-time and offers a fixed-term contract for one year, with the possibility of renewal. The role is non-rotational, meaning that the selected candidate will remain in the same position for the duration of the contract.
