Job Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective coordination and delivery of logistics services in Maitsabri and Amhara. This position requires the implementation, monitoring, and follow-up of logistics disciplines to adhere to NRC's standard policies and best practices. The Logistics Coordinator is expected to provide leadership, technical support, and capacity building to the area logistics staff. The role involves taking initiatives and providing guidance on all logistics matters to support the organization's objectives. The Logistics Coordinator will oversee procurement management, fleet management, warehouse and stock management, and performance management of logistics staff, ensuring that all operations are conducted efficiently and in compliance with NRC policies and donor requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for effective procurement management, ensuring adherence to the Logistics Handbook and NRC policies. This includes maintaining a high-quality procurement system, coordinating procurement plans, monitoring procurement processes, and conducting market research to identify local suppliers. The role also involves managing the transport fleet, ensuring safe and efficient transport of staff and goods, and maintaining vehicle service schedules. Additionally, the Logistics Coordinator will implement warehouse policies, guide logistics officers in stock management, conduct physical stock counts, and support auditing of inventory. Performance management is also a key responsibility, which includes planning workloads, supporting staff development, and conducting inductions for new employees. The Logistics Coordinator will regularly visit field locations to provide onsite support and ensure compliance with NRC policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a BA/MA degree in Logistics and Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related fields. A minimum of five years of professional experience is required, preferably in international NGOs. Experience as a Logistics Coordinator in a humanitarian or recovery context is essential, along with documented results related to the position's responsibilities. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory, and knowledge of Tigrigna is an advantage. Candidates should possess strong computer skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a BA or MA degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or other related fields. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of logistics operations and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

Experience:
The Logistics Coordinator should have a minimum of five years of professional experience, particularly in international NGOs. Experience in a humanitarian or recovery context is highly desirable, as is previous work in complex and volatile environments. Documented results related to logistics responsibilities are essential to demonstrate capability in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Tigrigna is considered an advantage, as it may facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance operational effectiveness in the region.
