Job Overview:
The internship-programme" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Internship Programme at IOM is designed to attract talented students and recent graduates who have a keen interest in migration issues and IOM's activities. Interns are expected to be between 20 and 36 years old and should have less than two years of relevant working experience. The programme aims to provide interns with practical experience in areas related to IOM's work, particularly in the Pacific region. Interns will support various projects, including the PCCMHS program, and will have opportunities to engage with external stakeholders such as UN agencies, governments, and NGOs. The internship will also provide valuable training components, allowing interns to gain knowledge about migration issues, enhance their technical skills, and understand IOM's administrative processes. This is a sponsored internship, and preference will be given to candidates based in the Pacific region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for supporting the Programme Officer in implementing PCCMHS program activities. This includes coordinating with external stakeholders, organizing capacity development activities, drafting correspondence and publications, assisting in knowledge management, and providing general administrative support. Interns will also help design project activities that link climate change and climate mobility in the Pacific. Additional responsibilities may include attending workshops and meetings, engaging with IOM staff, and contributing to the development of knowledge management plans.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be recent graduates or students nearing the completion of their studies, preferably holding a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. They should possess advanced English writing and editing skills, and familiarity with photography, videography, and video editing is advantageous. Proficiency in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and MS Office is required, along with expertise in social media platforms. Interns should demonstrate creativity, initiative, and the ability to work independently within a multicultural team.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be recent graduates or students who are in their final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent). Those preparing a thesis may also be considered eligible for the internship.

Experience:
Interns should have less than two years of relevant working experience. This internship is particularly suited for recent graduates or students who are nearing the completion of their studies and are looking to gain practical experience in the field of migration and humanitarian work.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required.

Additional Notes:
The internship is a sponsored position, and interns will receive a stipend as per IOM policy to help cover accommodation and living expenses. However, those receiving an internship allowance or scholarship from their university or other sponsoring body that includes financial remuneration will not be eligible for the stipend. Interns must obtain a fit-to-work medical certificate and provide vaccination records before starting. They are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accidents or illnesses. IOM will assist with visa processing but will not cover travel expenses. Interns are expected to manage their own resources, including computer and internet connectivity, for remote work. IOM has a zero-tolerance policy regarding misconduct and does not charge any fees during the recruitment process.
