Job Overview: The consultancy position aims to bolster the Commission's capacity in macroeconomic analysis, data collection, and economic reporting. Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will undertake various responsibilities under the guidance of the Deputy Executive Secretary (Programmes). Key duties include conducting research on economic trends and best practices, particularly regarding capital cost challenges and multilateral development bank reforms. The consultant will also provide technical support for the preparation and review of ECA's knowledge products, prepare speeches and presentations, and offer input on data collection methods for economic analysis. Additionally, the consultant will provide advisory services on policies and strategies related to ECA's subprogrammes and thematic areas of expertise, and undertake other tasks as required by the organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in international trade and finance, economics, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the master's degree. A minimum of 15 years of work experience in economics, international trade, and finance policy analysis is required, along with experience in providing policy advice to senior officials. Familiarity with the African context and experience working with multilateral and government institutions are highly desirable, as is experience in policy advocacy and communications.
