Job Overview:
The Senior Country Officer position at IFC is a critical role that involves promoting and coordinating the organization's investment and advisory activities within Ghana. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Country Officer include: developing and implementing an integrated investment and advisory strategy for IFC activities in Ghana; supporting business development efforts and transaction execution; organizing missions and maintaining relationships with key clients and stakeholders; identifying opportunities to enhance client solutions by leveraging other parts of the World Bank Group; cultivating high-level relationships with government agencies, private sector entities, and multilateral organizations; monitoring macro-economic developments that could impact IFC’s activities; liaising with client and donor partners; providing guidance and support in project monitoring and evaluation; developing memos and briefings for senior management; representing IFC at high-profile events; supervising administrative support staff; ensuring the integrity of client selection; and addressing reputational risks associated with IFC engagements in Ghana.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Senior Country Officer position must possess an MBA or a master’s degree in disciplines such as Economics, Finance, or Business Management. Additionally, a minimum of 12 years of relevant field experience in investment/commercial banking, public-private partnerships, management/business consulting, or operational roles in investment and advisory capacities is required. Experience in Africa is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical, financial modeling, credit, and transaction structuring skills, as well as a good understanding of IFC’s business lines and products. Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at the highest levels of government and the private sector is essential, along with excellent communication skills in English.
