Job Overview:
The Associate Project Officer (TC) plays a crucial role in the management and implementation of technical cooperation projects within the IAEA. Under the supervision of a Section Head, the officer is responsible for coordinating project activities, maintaining schedules, and developing tracking tools to monitor resource allocation and project status. This position requires a blend of analytical skills to evaluate project data and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The officer will also prepare comprehensive reports detailing project activities and outcomes, ensuring alignment with the IAEA's strategic objectives. The role is pivotal in enhancing the effectiveness of the IAEA's technical cooperation program, particularly in the Europe and Central Asia region, by fostering partnerships and improving coordination among Member States.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate Project Officer (TC) will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including:
  • Collecting, analyzing, and consolidating project information to develop monitoring tools linked to the Agency-wide Information System for Programme Support (AIPS).
  • Liaising with Managers, Technical Officers, and partners to gather and report relevant information.
  • Analyzing challenges encountered during project implementation and proposing viable solutions.
  • Preparing narrative progress and status reports on resource allocation and utilization.
  • Evaluating project results against established performance indicators and contributing to the preparation of comprehensive project reports.
  • Participating in working groups and meetings to address project implementation issues.
  • Collaborating with the TC Communication Team to manage project communication effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in management, social sciences, science and technology, international relations, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of two years of relevant experience in program planning, implementation, and budget management is required, preferably within an international context. Strong analytical writing skills and the ability to prepare technical reports are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate proficiency in collecting and analyzing information, as well as reporting on project outcomes.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university in a relevant field such as management, social sciences, science and technology, or international relations. This foundational education is critical for understanding the complexities of project management and technical cooperation within the IAEA's framework.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of related experience, which should encompass program planning and implementation as well as budget management. Experience in an international environment is highly preferred, as it provides the necessary context for understanding the IAEA's operations and the challenges faced in technical cooperation projects.

Languages:
Proficiency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.

Additional Notes:
The IAEA offers a competitive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $55,163, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance. Additional benefits include a variable post adjustment, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses, six weeks of annual leave, home leave travel, a pension plan, and health insurance.
