Job Posting Organization:
The Field Personnel Section (FPS) operates under the Capacity Development and Implementation (CDI) Bureau of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Established to enhance the global aviation sector, ICAO's mission is to ensure safe, secure, and sustainable development of civil aviation through cooperation among its member states. Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position focuses on supporting the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) programme, which aims to ensure a sufficient number of qualified aviation professionals to manage and maintain the international air transport system. The intern will work closely with the NGAP programme manager to organize the NGAP Global Summit and related outreach activities. This role is pivotal in promoting the objectives of NGAP, which include developing global, regional, and national planning strategies and serving as a platform for information exchange among stakeholders. The intern will be involved in various tasks, including preparing materials for workshops and webinars, maintaining the NGAP website, and conducting research on aviation education and training initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will have a range of responsibilities, including: assisting in the preparation of the NGAP Global Summit and associated workshops and webinars; coordinating the development of outreach materials and communication activities; updating and maintaining the NGAP Global Summit website and social media platforms; preparing reports and meeting minutes; drafting correspondences, speeches, and presentations; conducting research on best practices and data related to NGAP initiatives; contributing to the redesign of ICAO's public website content; supporting communication with stakeholders; and performing additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor. These duties require strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication and research skills are essential, along with familiarity with website content management systems and social media platforms. Practical experience with collaborative documentation tools or work management platforms is advantageous. A solid understanding of ICAO's mandate, the aviation sector, and the United Nations system is desirable. The intern should demonstrate competencies in communication, teamwork, client orientation, and creativity, showcasing the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the programme.

Educational Background:
Applicants must have completed or be enrolled in a graduate degree programme (second-level university degree or higher) in fields such as political science, law, public administration, management, or a related aviation sector field. For candidates from educational systems without a clear distinction between undergraduate and graduate studies, a minimum of four years of full-time university studies or equivalent towards a degree is required. This educational background ensures that candidates have the necessary theoretical knowledge and analytical skills to contribute effectively to the NGAP programme.

Experience:
The internship is designed for individuals who are in the early stages of their careers or are seeking practical experience in the aviation sector. While prior work experience is not mandatory, any relevant internships, volunteer work, or academic projects related to aviation, international relations, or public administration will be considered an asset. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a professional environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking, is essential for this position. A working knowledge of a second language of the Organization, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is desirable and will enhance the candidate's ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and materials.

Additional Notes:
This internship is unpaid, and all costs related to the internship, including travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses, must be covered by the intern or their sponsoring institution. The internship duration is six months, with the intern expected to work remotely or from the ICAO Office in Montreal on a full-time basis, five days a week. Interns are not permitted to engage in any other form of employment within ICAO during the internship period and cannot apply for or be appointed to any post in the Secretariat or be contracted for any other remunerated employment with ICAO for six months following the internship. It is important for successful candidates to discuss their specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer. Additionally, it is emphasized that the United Nations does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process.
