The organization focuses particularly on those children who are left behind by broader economic and social progress, working tirelessly to address their needs and advocate for their rights.

Job Overview:
The position involves volunteering for the Bebbo parenting app, which is designed to provide parents of children aged 0-6 years with comprehensive, evidence-based information and interactive tools. The app's content is managed through a Drupal-based Content Management System (CMS) that supports multiple languages and is built on a multi-site architecture. Volunteers will be responsible for bug fixing within the CMS to ensure seamless integration with mobile applications. This role is crucial for maintaining the functionality and reliability of the Bebbo app and its sister applications, which serve diverse populations across different countries. Volunteers will work closely with the Bebbo Central Team to validate fixes before deployment, ensuring that the app continues to meet the needs of parents effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Improve the existing multi-site Drupal setup that powers the Bebbo app and its sister applications across various countries.
  • Identify, fix bugs, and implement minor enhancements across subsites to improve overall functionality.
  • Review logs for errors, debug issues, and resolve conflicts between different modules or configurations within the CMS.
  • Debug and maintain API configurations and related integrations to ensure smooth operation of the app.
  • Coordinate with the Bebbo Central Team to validate fixes before deployment, ensuring that all changes are thoroughly tested and approved.
  • Document all changes made to the CMS and provide feedback on potential improvements to the system.

Required Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Drupal CMS, particularly in a multi-site setup.
  • Basic understanding of web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with debugging and troubleshooting issues in a CMS environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and communicate effectively with team members.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Educational Background:
A background in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Relevant coursework or certifications in web development, CMS management, or software engineering will be considered an asset.

Experience:
Previous experience working with Drupal or similar content management systems is highly desirable. Familiarity with GitHub for version control and collaborative coding is also beneficial. Volunteers should have a basic understanding of API integrations and web application development.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the team. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those relevant to the regions served by the Bebbo app, would be considered a plus.

Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer position, and the duration of the commitment is flexible based on the availability of the volunteers. The role is suitable for individuals looking to gain experience in web development and CMS management while contributing to a meaningful cause. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work with a global team and make a positive impact on the lives of parents and children.
