Job Overview:
The position of Research Writer at ANVCG involves drafting articles that focus on the impact of conflicts on civilians, environmental consequences of wars, and international displacement, among other topics. The writer will be responsible for creating two articles in Italian each week based on selected English topics that have been approved. Each article will range from 250 to 500 words. In addition to drafting, the writer will review edits and comments provided by L’Osservatorio’s team on their articles. The role also includes conducting research and gathering information for special projects undertaken by L'Osservatorio, with a particular focus on Mediterranean migrations due to conflicts, which is expected to culminate in a publication in 202
  • This position is crucial for raising awareness among an international audience, particularly students and academia, about humanitarian disarmament and the protection of civilians in conflict, with a special emphasis on the connection between disarmament and Sustainable Development Goal 16.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Research Writer include:
  • Drafting two articles in Italian each week on approved topics related to the impact of conflicts on civilians, environmental consequences of wars, and international displacement.
  • Ensuring that each article meets the word count requirement of 250-500 words.
  • Reviewing and incorporating feedback from L’Osservatorio’s team on drafted articles to improve quality and accuracy.
  • Conducting thorough research to gather relevant information for L'Osservatorio's special projects, particularly focusing on Mediterranean migrations due to conflicts.
  • Collaborating with team members to brainstorm and develop new article topics and project ideas.
  • Staying updated on current events and trends related to humanitarian disarmament and civilian protection to inform writing and research efforts.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Research Writer position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Strong writing skills in Italian, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in English, as the topics will be selected from English sources.
  • Experience in research and the ability to synthesize information from various sources.
  • Familiarity with issues related to humanitarian disarmament, civilian protection, and the socio-economic impacts of war.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Educational Background:

Experience:
