Job Overview:
The National Programme Officer - Gender/GBV Coordination plays a crucial role in analyzing and assessing political, social, and economic trends that affect gender equality and women's empowerment in the Philippines. This position involves close collaboration with various units within the UNFPA Country Office and requires the officer to guide and facilitate the delivery of UNFPA's programs related to gender equality and the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV). The officer will support the effective management of UNFPA activities aimed at advancing gender equality and eradicating GBV, while also mainstreaming gender in other priority areas such as population and development, sexual and reproductive health and rights, youth empowerment, and humanitarian action. Duties and Responsibilities:
As the National Programme Officer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: analyzing and interpreting the political, social, and economic environment relevant to population and development, sexual and reproductive health, and GBV; keeping abreast of new policy developments and preparing briefs for policy dialogue; contributing to the design and implementation of country programs; disseminating and applying standard guidelines during assessments and planning; developing proposals and engaging in resource mobilization; providing technical support for advocacy and policy documents; preparing periodic progress and annual reports; supporting implementing partners in multi-sector interventions; mobilizing stakeholders around GBV initiatives; contributing to the integration of gender and GBV initiatives in humanitarian programming; and performing any other duties as requested by the UNFPA Representative.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in gender studies, law, humanitarian law, anthropology, sociology, social science, political science, development studies, international studies, or other related social science disciplines. Additionally, candidates should have at least two years of professional experience in development assistance with a focus on gender/GBV programming. Practical experience in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects is essential, along with field/community-based experience being an asset. Candidates should demonstrate initiative, passion, and commitment to UNFPA's mission and values, as well as knowledge of current developments in sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, and youth empowerment.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in relevant fields such as gender studies, law, humanitarian law, anthropology, sociology, social science, political science, development studies, or international studies is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and analytical skills to address complex issues related to gender and GBV.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of professional experience in development assistance, specifically focusing on gender and GBV programming. Candidates should have practical experience in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects, as well as experience in policy dialogue and advocacy. Field or community-based experience is considered an asset, as it provides valuable insights into the challenges faced by communities in relation to gender issues.

Languages:
Fluency in English and the national language (Filipino) is mandatory, both orally and in writing. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effectively engaging with various stakeholders and representing the organization in external relations.
