Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position focuses on communication and public relations within the framework of the special initiative 'Good Employment for Socially Just Change' led by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The initiative aims to improve economic conditions in selected African partner countries, including Egypt, Ethiopia, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal, and Tunisia. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the communication strategy of the initiative, contributing to the development of communication materials, and ensuring a coherent and impactful external representation of the initiative's goals and activities. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in international cooperation and communication, particularly in the context of sustainable development and economic collaboration.
Duties and Responsibilities: As an intern, you will be responsible for several key tasks: assisting in the implementation of the communication concept for the special initiative; creating communication materials such as flyers and briefs; coordinating various assignments with external service providers; supporting the editorial process for website contributions and producing films about the initiative's projects; conceptualizing and developing communication activities and content, especially for the initiative's website and LinkedIn channel; preparing, conducting, and following up on internal and external events related to the initiative; maintaining the press monitoring filter and reviewing relevant media coverage.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a completed undergraduate degree in communication, economics, political science, or a related field, ideally with a focus on development economics and/or communication. Practical experience in international cooperation and a solid understanding of the current discussions at the intersection of international collaboration and economic partnerships are essential. Familiarity with communication and public relations, as well as knowledge of new media and social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, is required. Experience in organizing and executing events, as well as working with content management systems and graphic editing of film and photo material, is preferred. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate openness, a proactive work ethic, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Educational Background: A completed undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as communication, economics, or political science is required. Candidates should ideally have a focus on development economics or communication, which will provide a solid foundation for the tasks involved in this internship.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have initial practical experience in international cooperation, particularly in communication and public relations. Experience in organizing events and familiarity with social media campaigns will be advantageous. Candidates should also have some exposure to working with content management systems and graphic editing tools, as well as any international or regional experience in North/Sub-Saharan Africa being a plus.
Languages: Fluency in German and English is mandatory, with strong communication skills in both languages. Additionally, good knowledge of French is desirable, which would enhance the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the initiative's objectives.

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a program that requires an internship or have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.
