Job Overview: The Corporate Sustainability Intern position is designed for graduate students who are passionate about corporate sustainability and its impact on forests. The intern will work closely with a full-time program manager to support WWF's initiatives aimed at reducing corporate impacts on forests and promoting nature-based solutions. This internship provides an opportunity to engage in meaningful projects that contribute to WWF's Forests Forward corporate engagement program and Nature-based Solutions Origination Platform. The intern will conduct research, participate in meetings, and present findings, gaining valuable insights into the intersection of corporate practices and environmental conservation.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative research on companies within a specified sector to assess their sustainability commitments and alignment with WWF programs. Key tasks include distilling information about landscape investment opportunities into proposals and pitch decks, shadowing WWF staff during meetings, taking notes, and participating in strategy discussions. The intern will also present lessons learned and research findings at the end of the internship and attend weekly check-ins with their manager to track progress and learning objectives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be pursuing a graduate program related to business, supply chain management, sustainability, biopharma, or economics. Active enrollment as a student is required, and candidates must not have received their degree by the internship start date. Experience in qualitative or quantitative research is essential, along with excellent writing and presentation skills.
