The successful candidate will be part of the Two Wells Parenting Support Team, responsible for delivering the Play2Learn playgroups and the Bringing up Great Kids parenting program. The role focuses on promoting positive parenting approaches and enhancing family wellbeing. The specialist will engage directly with the local community, working collaboratively with other agencies to support families in reaching their potential. Duties and Responsibilities: The Family Support Specialist will be responsible for providing community-based group and casework support to families, building connections with individuals from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds, and actively encouraging families to engage with the programs and services offered. The role includes working collaboratively with program partners, collecting and entering client data, and maintaining accurate case notes. The specialist will also be expected to participate in community outreach efforts, facilitate parenting programs, and contribute to the overall mission of enhancing family wellbeing and child rights.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have experience in community-based and outreach family casework, along with a qualification in a relevant field, such as a Diploma or significant equivalent experience. Additionally, candidates should have completed or be willing to obtain the Bringing up Great Kids Facilitation Training. Experience working with families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, Indigenous communities, low socio-economic backgrounds, young parents, and socially or geographically isolated families is also required.
