Job Overview:
The ICT Associate – Service Monitoring position is crucial for supporting the UN's operational requirements, particularly in peacekeeping and special political missions. The role involves working under the supervision of the UNOPS Senior Programme Manager and the Chief of the Digital Technology Hub Support Unit at the UN Global Service Center (UNGSC). The incumbent will be responsible for managing and maintaining enterprise monitoring systems, deploying tools for monitoring network devices, systems, and applications, and collaborating with various technical teams to ensure effective service delivery. This position requires participation in a 24x7 duty roster, emphasizing the importance of continuous monitoring and support for UNGSC's clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the ICT Associate include supporting the management and maintenance of enterprise monitoring systems, deploying monitoring tools, coordinating with technical teams to establish monitoring requirements, performing administrative tasks in monitoring tools, creating and maintaining monitoring rules, and providing problem resolution for monitoring components. The role also involves collaborating with project managers to address technical challenges, contributing to projects involving AI technologies, and assisting in policy recommendations to enhance service efficiency. Additionally, the incumbent will execute maintenance tasks for monitoring tools and perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent with six years of relevant experience, or a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s) in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related field with two years of relevant experience. ITIL Foundation certification is mandatory, while certifications in NNM, AWS, Azure, and PRINCE2 are desirable. Relevant experience includes installation and administration of application/network/system performance monitoring tools, server administration, and scripting/programming languages.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent with extensive experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. ITIL Foundation certification is required, and additional certifications in NNM, AWS, Azure, and PRINCE2 are considered advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience in IT areas, specifically in the installation and administration of monitoring tools, server administration (Windows and Linux), and at least one year of experience in scripting and programming languages. Experience in cloud services, business analytics, server virtualization technologies, and AI technologies is desirable but not mandatory.

Languages:
Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking) is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for this position.

Additional Notes:
This is a local position, and only applicants who are Spanish or EU citizens or possess a valid residence and work permit in Spain are eligible. The contract type is staff, at level G-6, with a fixed-term duration of one year, renewable based on performance and funding availability.
