Job Overview: The Programme Management Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Human Rights Officer/Team Leader at the UNAMA Regional Office in Kabul. The Programme Management Assistant will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the overall goals of the organization, demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to the mission's objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to:
Providing comprehensive office support and administrative functions.
Drafting and responding to routine correspondence and communications.
Producing large and complex documents and reports using standard word processing software.
Monitoring and processing the team's outputs and ensuring compliance with relevant requirements.
Researching and compiling information for reports, work plans, and meetings.
Assisting in data collection and analysis related to human rights monitoring.
Preparing presentation materials and maintaining schedules.
Maintaining electronic filing systems and providing software support. 1
Translating documents and interpreting in meetings as required. 1
Guiding less experienced staff on office processes and procedures. 1
Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A first-level university degree in business, administration, management, finance, or related areas is desirable and can reduce the required work experience. A minimum of two years of experience in general office support or a related area is required, with one year of experience acceptable for candidates with a relevant degree. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience in database management and electronic filing are essential. Candidates should also have experience in research and compiling information for reports and meetings.
Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position is a high school diploma or equivalent. However, candidates with a first-level university degree in relevant fields such as business, administration, management, or finance are preferred and may have a reduced experience requirement.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in general office support or related areas. This requirement is reduced to one year for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience in administrative support, budget management, and database management is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Candidates should also have experience in research and compiling information from various sources.
Languages: Fluency in oral and written English is required, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations. Additionally, proficiency in Pashto and Dari is required for effective communication in the local context. Knowledge of French is considered an asset but is not mandatory.
