Job Overview:
The Senior Partnerships Officer will play a crucial role in managing and expanding Mercy Corps' portfolio of foundation partners in Europe. This position is focused on maintaining high standards of relationship management and stewardship to encourage partners to increase their support for Mercy Corps' initiatives. The officer will oversee grants management, including proposal reviews, compliance, and financial coordination, while also collaborating with various teams to identify and cultivate significant funding opportunities. The role requires strategic thinking and proactive engagement with partners to enhance funding levels and align with Mercy Corps' priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Partnerships Officer will be responsible for leading the account management of foundation partners, ensuring each partnership is supported by a strategic development plan. Key duties include enhancing relationships to increase giving levels, supporting the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager in developing strategies for key partnerships, and acting as a point of contact for partners. The officer will coordinate with various teams to manage grants effectively, ensuring compliance and timely reporting. Additionally, the officer will lead efforts to expand the portfolio, pursue new funding leads, and represent Mercy Corps to external audiences, advocating for the organization's mission and programs.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in Trust and Foundations fundraising or partnership development within the international development or humanitarian sector. They should have a proven track record of stewarding donors and cultivating partnerships that result in significant funding increases. Strong strategic thinking skills are essential, along with excellent writing and verbal communication abilities. Candidates should also have experience working collaboratively across teams and possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in international development, nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications or training in fundraising or partnership development may be advantageous.

Experience:
The position requires at least 4 years of relevant experience in fundraising or partnership development, particularly within the context of international development or humanitarian work. Candidates should demonstrate a history of successfully managing donor relationships and securing substantial funding from foundations.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages relevant to Mercy Corps' operational regions would be considered a valuable asset.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in London, with potential travel for national and international engagements, though travel is not frequent. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK at the time of appointment.
