Job Overview: The position of Praktikant*in in the Skills4Abroad program focuses on portfolio development and event management. This program, commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), supports professionals in German development cooperation before and during their assignments abroad through a variety of digital and analog learning offerings. The intern will be involved in planning, preparing, evaluating, and documenting training sessions that cover topics such as diversity, international context, language and communication, personal safety, mental health, and digital competence. The intern will also assist in the organization and execution of trainer meetings and training of trainers, contributing to the development and updating of learning materials, and expanding the digital offerings, including managing the Learning Management System (based on Moodle).
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will participate in the planning, preparation, evaluation, and documentation of training sessions in various thematic areas, including diversity and international context, language and communication, personal safety and mental health, cross-border issues, and digital competence. Responsibilities also include organizing and preparing trainer meetings and training of trainers, both in-person and online. The intern will assist in developing and updating learning materials, contribute to the expansion of digital offerings, and support cross-cutting themes, particularly in diversity and gender. Additionally, the intern may provide methodological and content-related support for the conceptualization and further development of learning offerings as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should be studying political science, communication studies, linguistics, psychology, social sciences, adult education, geography, ethnology, cultural and regional studies, digital learning, or related fields. Knowledge in international cooperation is essential, ideally with experience abroad. Experience in learning and didactics is required, with a preference for those familiar with digital learning and digital literacy. Strong teamwork, initiative, reliability, communication skills, and organizational abilities are crucial. Experience in organizing and documenting events is necessary, along with a high level of diversity competence and experience in gender mainstreaming. Candidates must have fluent German and English language skills, and knowledge of an additional foreign language is desirable. A high level of digital competence is expected, including proficiency in digital communication and collaboration tools, as well as strong application skills in digital tools such as MS 365 and experience with Learning Management Systems (Moodle).
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes enrollment in a relevant degree program, such as political science, communication studies, linguistics, psychology, social sciences, adult education, geography, ethnology, cultural and regional studies, or digital learning. Candidates must be currently enrolled in their studies, participating in a training program that includes an internship, or have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have experience in the field of international cooperation, ideally with practical experience abroad. Additionally, familiarity with learning and didactics, particularly in digital learning environments, is essential. Experience in organizing and documenting events is also a key requirement for this role.
Languages: Fluent proficiency in both German and English is mandatory for this position. It is also desirable for candidates to have good knowledge of an additional foreign language, which would enhance their ability to communicate in diverse environments.

The monthly intern compensation is €2,205.04 (gross).
