Job Overview: The Administration Handyman position is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency of the office and guesthouses. The role involves a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring that all facilities are in good working order. The Admin Handyman will work closely with the HR & Admin Officer/Assistant, providing support in various maintenance-related tasks, including garden upkeep and general handyman duties. The Admin Handyman will be expected to perform a range of tasks, from basic repairs to more specialized maintenance work, contributing to the overall effectiveness of DRC's operations in Syria.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Administration Handyman include:
Repairs and Maintenance: Carrying out all repairs safely and thoroughly to ensure the functionality of the office and guesthouses.
General Maintenance: Performing basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, heating, and other maintenance work as required.
Garden Maintenance: Maintaining the garden areas around the office to ensure a pleasant environment.
Minor Tasks: Replacing light bulbs and conducting minor maintenance tasks as needed.
Generator Maintenance: Operating and maintaining generators, including managing fuel, oil, and filters to ensure they are in good working condition.
Guesthouses Maintenance: Providing maintenance services for DRC guesthouses, ensuring they are safe and comfortable for guests.
Assessment and Reporting: Assessing maintenance equipment and informing the line manager of any repairs or replacements needed.
Support: Offering support to the HR & Admin Officer/Assistant when required.
Other Duties: Performing any other related duties assigned by the line manager, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist in various tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Administration Handyman position include:
Previous experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar maintenance role is essential.
Communication Skills: Good communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking, are necessary for effective interaction with team members and management.
Language Proficiency: Spoken and written Arabic is essential for this role, as it is the primary language of communication. Basic English skills are also beneficial, allowing for better interaction in a diverse work environment.
