Job Description
Job Posting Organization:
CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, was established in 1954 and is one of the world's largest and most respected centers for scientific research. The organization employs over 2,500 staff members and has a diverse workforce from more than 100 nationalities. CERN operates in multiple countries, primarily in Europe, and is known for its cutting-edge research in particle physics, utilizing the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments to explore the fundamental structure of the universe. The organization is committed to diversity and inclusion, recognizing that a diverse workforce is essential for its success and innovation.

Job Overview:
The QARE Service at CERN is focused on quality control and research related to cable aging assessment within CERN's accelerators. The Data Analyst position is critical for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the QARE database, which collects comprehensive information on cable lifecycles. This includes data from manufacturers' technical data sheets, cable sample tests before and after aging, and condition monitoring in CERN facilities. The successful candidate will utilize advanced statistical methods and big data analysis to ensure the quality and reliability of cable testing procedures, contributing significantly to the overall safety and performance of CERN's operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and validating testing data collected from various cable sample tests and condition monitoring in radiation areas. They will establish and maintain quality control protocols for cable testing procedures, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and consistency. The role involves developing and implementing statistical quality control methods to identify anomalies, deviations, or trends in test results. The analyst will also contribute to the design and optimization of test methodologies, ensuring compliance with international quality standards and best practices. Collaboration with QARE materials engineers is essential to provide data-driven insights that enhance the reliability and performance of cable testing procedures. Additionally, the analyst will produce data correlations based on results obtained from various cable tests and support assessments related to quality control, ensuring compliance with CERN regulations and international applicable standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have proven experience in database development and management, along with proficiency in advanced statistical analysis and data modeling techniques. Familiarity with quality control procedures, particularly in technical and scientific contexts, is essential. Strong programming skills, especially in Python, are required. The ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment is crucial, as well as excellent communication skills to present complex information effectively. Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English and show a commitment to learning French.
