Job Overview:
The Principal, Project Integrity position at EBRD is a strategic role focused on assessing and mitigating integrity and reputational risks across various regions, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe. The successful candidate will work within the Project Integrity team in the Office of the Chief Compliance Officer (OCCO) to ensure that high standards of integrity are consistently applied throughout the Bank's projects. This role is not merely about regulatory compliance; it requires a proactive approach to integrity and reputational risk management, where the individual will need to make high-stakes decisions and provide sound recommendations based on their judgment. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Principal, Project Integrity will be responsible for a variety of key tasks, including:
  • Conducting integrity and reputational risk assessments for transactions and projects, collaborating closely with Banking, Credit, and Legal teams to provide well-founded recommendations on risk mitigation measures.
  • Advising on integrity-related policies and contributing to internal audits and board presentations.
  • Developing and delivering training and guidance to promote awareness and compliance with the Bank's integrity standards.
  • Leading initiatives aimed at anti-corruption and anti-money laundering/counter-terrorism financing (AML/CFT) capacity building.
  • Staying updated on international compliance, corporate governance, and financial crime standards.
  • Representing EBRD in discussions with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, auditors, and government bodies.
  • Providing expertise on regional integrity issues, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe, and contributing to broader integrity strategies and Bank-wide initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree in law, finance, or a related field. Extensive experience in legal, banking, compliance, auditing, or integrity risk assessment is essential, along with a solid understanding of the subject matter across various departments such as Credit. Proven experience in making decisions based on sound judgment is required. Prior work experience in EBRD regions, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, Central Asia, or Eastern Europe, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional analytical skills, strong decision-making abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of international compliance standards, anti-corruption measures, and integrity issues relevant to EBRD's operations.

Educational Background:
A degree in law, finance, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is crucial as it provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the complexities of integrity and reputational risk management within the banking and financial sectors.

Experience:
