Duties and Responsibilities: Interns at CERN will engage in a variety of tasks depending on their field of study. Required Qualifications: To qualify for the internship, candidates must be full-time students pursuing a Technical/Administrative diploma, Bachelor, or Master degree. PhD students are not eligible. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and maintain full-time student status throughout the internship. The main fields of study should include applied physics, computing, mathematics, engineering disciplines, or administrative fields such as translation, accounting, and human resources. Proficiency in English and/or French is required to ensure effective communication within the organization.
Educational Background: Candidates must be enrolled in a recognized educational institution, pursuing a degree relevant to the internship. The program is open to students in various fields, including but not limited to applied physics, engineering, mathematics, and administrative studies. It is essential that candidates remain registered as full-time students during their internship period at CERN.
Experience: While prior work experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate a strong academic background in their chosen field. The internship is designed for students who are looking to gain practical experience and apply their theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting. A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential for success in this role.
Languages: Good working proficiency in English and/or French is mandatory for this position. Additional Notes: The internship duration is flexible, ranging from a minimum of 1 month to a maximum of 6 months. Interns will receive a monthly allowance of 1,587 Swiss Francs, which will be adjusted proportionally for shorter work periods. Candidates must ensure they have full insurance coverage valid in the Geneva area for medical expenses and accidents. It is important to note that CERN will not sign external traineeship agreements; instead, interns must use the CERN traineeship agreement provided.
