Job Overview: The Senior Professional in Anti-Corruption will play a crucial role in advising national agencies and institutions on the development and implementation of anti-corruption legislation, strategies, and policies. This position requires a deep understanding of the dynamics of corruption within law enforcement and the judiciary, as well as the ability to provide effective recommendations to enhance national capacities in combating corruption. The incumbent will work closely with various stakeholders, including international partners, to ensure a coordinated approach to anti-corruption efforts. The role demands strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively. The successful candidate will also be responsible for delivering training and mentoring to national trainers, thereby contributing to the overall capacity building in the area of anti-corruption.
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible for a range of tasks, including:
Providing recommendations to national agencies on anti-corruption legislation and practices.
Advising on the improvement of anti-corruption strategies and policies.
Organizing and facilitating events aimed at enhancing national capacities to address corruption.
Coordinating activities with international partners to prevent duplication of efforts.
Participating in training and mentoring programs for national trainers.
Assisting in the implementation of related projects and initiatives.
Coordinating extra-budgetary project activities in the area of anti-corruption.
Performing other related duties as assigned by the Senior Adviser.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in law or significant work experience in criminal justice or law enforcement. A minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience is required, along with knowledge of courtroom proceedings, criminal law, and international legal standards. Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently and under pressure, with a flexible approach to multi-tasking. Cultural sensitivity and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups are also critical.
Educational Background: A first-level university degree in law or a related field is mandatory for this position. Candidates with significant work experience in relevant areas may also be considered. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in legal principles, particularly those related to anti-corruption and criminal justice.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience, particularly in anti-corruption efforts, law enforcement, or judicial processes. Experience working with international organizations or in field missions focused on governance and public administration reform is highly desirable. Candidates should have a proven track record in project management and capacity building in anti-corruption contexts.
Languages: Professional fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of the local language or a common lingua franca spoken in the mission area is considered an asset. Effective oral and written communication skills are essential for the role.
Additional Notes: This position is classified as a Senior Professional role and is offered on a full-time basis under an international secondment contract.
