Job Overview: As a Data Warehouse Officer at the EIB, you will be integral to the design, development, and optimization of the Enterprise Data Warehouse. This role requires collaboration with the ETL development team to ensure adherence to best practices while developing and maintaining ETL solutions and reporting tools, particularly focused on financial and regulatory data. You will engage with a network of data professionals, contributing to transformative initiatives such as designing end-to-end solutions, implementing data lakes, and integrating cloud technologies, all of which are essential to the EIB Group's digital transformation. Duties and Responsibilities:
Contribute to defining the IT strategy related to the Group Data Warehouse.
Ensure implementation of IT policies and initiatives in the Group Data Warehouse fields, addressing financial reporting needs effectively.
Develop the Group Data Warehouse and produce financial reports, ensuring alignment with unit objectives.
Ensure technical development and maintenance of Group Data Warehouse projects comply with financial reporting expectations and banking regulations.
Support the adequacy of Group Data Warehouse architecture and governance with financial data needs, ensuring high performance, reliability, and availability.
Lead IT projects and conduct business requirements analysis independently.
Coordinate project documentation preparation, including project charters, functional designs, test scripts, and progress reports.
Evaluate the effectiveness of Group Data Warehouse designs and developments for financial reporting needs.
Provide timely support services and expert advice in the ETL domain to junior staff and project managers during project execution.
Required Qualifications:
University degree (minimum equivalent to a Bachelor) in Information Technology, Mathematics, Finance, or related fields.
At least 3 years of experience in ETL design, development, and maintenance of a data warehouse, including reviewing ETL developments and providing advisory.
Good knowledge of project management principles, methods, and practices.
Solid technical knowledge of ETL tools (e.g., IBM Infosphere Datastage, Talend, Informatica) and reporting tools (e.g., SAP Business Objects Suite).
Strong ability to interact, communicate, and present ideas effectively.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a university degree, preferably in Information Technology, Mathematics, Finance, or related fields. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, with advanced degrees being advantageous.
Experience: The position requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in ETL design, development, and maintenance of data warehouses. Candidates should also have experience in reviewing ETL developments and providing advisory services, demonstrating a solid understanding of project management principles and practices.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, and a good command of French is also required, as both are official working languages of the EIB. Knowledge of other EU languages is considered an advantage. Proficiency is defined as achieving level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).
