Job Overview: The Principal, Supply Chain/Trade Advisory Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the SME Finance and Development (F&D) Group's business delivery under the EBRD’s Supply Chain Solutions Framework. This position involves designing and implementing tailored Supply Chain and Trade advisory programs that provide bespoke business and sustainability advisory services to suppliers and buyers in the EBRD's countries of operation. The Principal will work closely with various teams within the SME F&D Group and across the EBRD, particularly with Corporate Sector and Financial Institutions teams, to ensure the effective delivery of advisory services that enhance SME access to finance and build their capacity. The role requires a strategic mindset to identify innovative opportunities for development and delivery of advisory work, ensuring alignment with the overall commercial strategies of clients.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Principal will be responsible for several key duties, including:
Supporting the development and implementation of Supply Chain and Trade advisory projects that provide tailored business and sustainability advisory services to suppliers and buyers.
Driving business development and client engagement by identifying new opportunities for the Supply Chain Solutions Framework (SCSF), preparing impactful pitches, and drafting customized solutions.
Leveraging the EBRD's network of partnerships with stakeholders, including buyers, financial institutions, and government agencies, to advance scalable Supply Chain and Trade Advisory solutions.
Providing technical guidance and training to buyers on best practices for supply chain and trade advisory, enhancing their internal capacity to deliver high-quality advisory solutions.
Preparing and delivering assessments and impact reports on advisory interventions, highlighting successes and lessons learned.
Participating as a team member in banking projects to drive impactful outcomes for clients.
Developing knowledge-sharing resources to disseminate best practices internally and externally.
Tracking key performance indicators for programs and transactions involving SCS solutions, ensuring targets are met and addressing any obstacles.
Coordinating with relevant teams within the EBRD to leverage resources and expertise, creating cross-department partnerships. 1
Engaging with SCSF clients to identify their needs and priorities, tailoring advisory solutions accordingly. 1
Designing SME trade development programs to enhance trade opportunities and competitiveness for SMEs.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or equivalent experience in relevant areas is preferred. Additionally, candidates should have a deep understanding of corporate and SME sectors, with a proven track record in implementing supply chain solutions and their impact. Excellent project management and organizational skills are essential, along with strong problem-solving abilities and creative thinking. Candidates should also demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain partnerships with various stakeholders, including financial institutions and government agencies.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or equivalent experience in the relevant areas is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of the complexities involved in supply chain and trade advisory.
Experience: The position requires relevant experience with a tangible track record in developing and implementing Supply Chain and Trade advisory projects, action plans, and programs for buyers and suppliers, particularly focusing on SMEs. Candidates should have experience in building and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders and providing technical guidance and training to suppliers on implementing advisory solutions and strategies that strengthen supply chains for buyers.
Languages: Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Candidates who are fluent in other languages relevant to the countries of operation will have an advantage, as this can enhance communication and engagement with diverse stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is a fixed-term contract lasting for 2 years. The EBRD promotes a flexible working environment, expecting employees to attend the office 50% of their working time.
