Job Overview:
The Education Officer plays a crucial role in implementing education activities within the Bekaa area, ensuring that these activities align with NRC's strategic goals, proposals, budgets, and operational plans. The officer is responsible for coordinating education initiatives, adhering to NRC policies and donor requirements, and engaging with communities and local leaders to inform them about ongoing activities. This position requires a proactive approach to breaking down annual operational plans into actionable weekly, monthly, and quarterly plans, as well as collaborating with relevant partners to ensure timely procurement and distribution of educational materials. The officer will also supervise and develop team members, prepare progress reports, and explore new technologies and methods to enhance the quality of educational activities. Furthermore, the officer must ensure that all activities comply with NRC's Protection mainstreaming guidelines and address any concerns appropriately.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Education Officer's duties include coordinating education activities according to established strategies and plans, ensuring compliance with NRC policies and donor requirements, and actively involving community members in the educational process. Specific responsibilities include conducting education assessments, designing training programs, developing training modules in both English and Arabic, and communicating project aims to volunteers and beneficiaries. The officer is also tasked with creating a safe and conducive learning environment, fostering positive relationships with refugee and host communities, and organizing outreach and awareness sessions. Monitoring and maintaining quality education programs, supervising transport for beneficiaries, and managing documentation and reporting are also key responsibilities. The officer will collect and enter data for monitoring and evaluation processes and carry out administrative tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, along with 2-3 years of experience working in the education sector as a teacher or trainer, particularly in humanitarian or recovery contexts. Strong documentation, research, and report writing skills are essential, as is proficiency in both English and Arabic, both written and spoken. Experience in designing and presenting training and participatory programs is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding educational theories, practices, and methodologies relevant to the humanitarian context in which NRC operates.

Experience:
The position requires 2-3 years of relevant experience in the education field, specifically as a teacher or trainer. Experience in a humanitarian or recovery context is particularly valuable, as it equips candidates with the skills needed to navigate the challenges faced in such environments. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successful program implementation and community engagement.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, as effective communication with diverse stakeholders is crucial. Candidates should be able to communicate fluently in both languages, both in writing and speaking. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
